You can order an official copy of a probate record if you need proof of a grant of representation or details from a will. This service is for probate that has already been granted.

The Probate Register contains basic details about wills and grants of representation issued in Ireland since 1992.

If, after searching the Probate Register, you want to order a copy of the grant, then you will need to note:
- the record number
- the date of the grant
- the Probate Office that issued the grant
When you search, note the record number, the date of grant, and the Probate Office that issued the grant — you will need these for the order form.
Fill in the probate order form
Download and complete the order form:
Enter the record number, date of grant, and issuing Probate Office. Make sure all details are correct to avoid delays.
Pay the fee
Check the probate fees to confirm the amount for your copy request.
- Solicitors can pay using stamped court fees.
- Members of the public can pay by postal or money order, or by cheque made payable to the Courts Service.
Do not send cash with your application.
