  • Grant of Administration Intestate

A Grant of Administration Intestate can only be applied for when there is no will and the next of kin (as defined by the Succession Act) is applying for the grant.

  • Grant of Administration with Will Annexed

This grant is issued when a person dies leaving a will, but either no executor is appointed in the will or the appointed person cannot or will not act as executor. The person entitled to apply for the grant in this case is usually determined by the terms of the will.

  • De Bonis Non Grant

A De Bonis Non application is required when the administrators of an estate die leaving assets of the deceased unadministered. The grant is given to another party equally entitled or, if none, to the next person entitled.

  • Foreign Domicile Applications

Foreign Domicile Applications occur when a person dies domiciled outside the Republic of Ireland but leaves property in the Republic.

  • Ad Litem Grant

An Ad Litem grant is needed where a grant has not yet issued in a deceased person’s estate and another person or organisation wishes to issue proceedings to make a claim against the estate and time is of the essence.
