Fees for probate applications
You will need to pay a fee to the Probate Office or the District Probate Registry for probate applications and all related matters.
Personal Application Fees
- €1 – €100,000: €200
- €100,001 – €250,000: €400
- €250,001 – €500,000: €700
- €500,001 – €750,000: €1,000
- €750,001 – €1,000,000: €1,300
- Over €1,000,000: €1,300 (plus €800 for every €500,000 or part of it over €1,000,000)
For cases where a grant has already been issued (such as double, lapsed, unadministered, or duplicate grants), the fee is €300.
Solicitor Application Fees
- Up to €100,000: €100
- Up to €250,000: €200
- Up to €500,000: €350
- Up to €750,000: €500
- Up to €1,000,000: €650
- Over €1,000,000:
- First €1,000,000: €650
- Every €500,000 (or part of it) beyond €1,000,000: €400
- Double, Cessate, Unadministered or Duplicate Grant: €150
- De Bonis Non Applications: €150
Fees for Copies of Documents
You must submit an order form to the Probate Office along with the relevant fee to order copies of probate documents.
- Official copy of any will, grant, or document: €15
- Sealed and certified copy of will or grant: €20
- Sealed and certified copy of both will and grant (at time of application): €25
- Verified copy of Inland Revenue Affidavit: €25
- Official copy of will and grant: €30
- Sealed and certified copy of grant: €20
- Sealed and certified copy of will: €20
- Statement of affairs: €25
Fees for Caveats, Warnings, and Appearances
- Submitting a caveat: €100
- Filing a warning, citation, subpoena, or an appearance to any of these: €30
Fees for Document Searches
- Searches by media representatives: €120
- Search by Probate Office or Registry staff: €20
Probate Court Office Fees
- Order by Probate Officer or Registrar: €50
- Certificate signed by a judge: €30
